Sarah Hammer
BOARD SECRETARY
Sarah grew up playing soccer and tennis, before falling in love with indoor and outdoor track in high school. As an adult, she has found joy and empowerment in hiking, strength training, and yoga, and recently got her 200-hour yoga teacher certification. However, running remains the sport that makes her tick. She currently serves as a Pace Lead for Endorphins Running, a running community with chapters in 9+ cities across the country.
Professionally, Sarah is an Associate at Rhapsody Venture Partners, where she invests in early-stage physical science and applied engineering startups. Prior to joining Rhapsody, Sarah worked at two Series A startup companies engineering microbes for the production of sustainable chemicals. Sarah completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, and her PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University.
Sarah is passionate about empowering women in both their athletic and professional endeavors. She has seen many parallels between the challenges faced by women participating in competitive athletics and male-dominated fields of science and engineering. She is repeatedly reminded of the remarkable effects of team and individual sports on self-confidence, compassion, and leadership skills, and has experienced first-hand how these skills can translate to one's personal and professional lives.
