Who is this training for?

Coaches of collegiate and elite female athletes

Leadership starts with you. Teaching technical skills are only part of what it means to be a great coach. Understanding how your emotions impact you, your coaching, and your athletes is what separates exceptional coaches from the rest. How you show up on the field directly impacts everyone around you, especially your athletes. How are you showing up?

In our eiFOCUS® Coach Training, you will learn emotional intelligence leadership skills that will not only help you be your best but will also motivate and inspire your female athletes to work hard to be the best that they can be, on and off the playing field.

Emotional Intelligence in Action

Meet Our Special Guests

Along with our exceptional eiFOCUS® coaching staff, we will be joined by two very special coaches who are emotional intelligence in action.

  • Tracy Hamm

On our first evening together, we will be joined by Tracy Hamm, UC Davis Women’s Soccer Head Coach. We will gather together and watch the documentary, COACH. COACH follows Tracy in her quest to earn the internationally renowned UEFA A coaching license. Afterwards, Tracy will answer questions and join in the conversation on the importance of emotional intelligence in coaching. Tracy will also be a coach expert/facilitator for the duration of the in person coach training.

  • Valorie Kondos-Field

On our second night, we will have a cocktail reception and dinner located near the Olympic torch and  surrounded by the flags from nations across the world.  We will be joined by our keynote speaker of the evening, Valorie Kondos-Field. Valorie was UCLA Women’s Gymnastics Coach for 29 years. She was a 7 time NCAA Champion, she is a member of UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame as well as being PAC12 Coach of the Century. Check out her Ted Talk, “Why Winning Doesn’t Always Equal Success.”

What you can expect

Identify your blindspots and grow with a 360 Assessment

Each participant will receive a 360 assessment, including a 90 minute post training small group debrief, held online. Along with a self assessment section, you will also receive anonymous feedback from others in your life such as your peer coaches, manager, athletes and friends and family. Getting feedback from others is a powerful way to identify your blindspots and be able to make meaningful change in your life.

We use Korn Ferry’s Emotional Social Competency Inventory assessment which is an evidence based tool that measures the competencies of emotional intelligence and what makes great leaders.
